“Welcome to your local”

Hello and a very warm welcome to all customers old and new. How does the saying go? “the best things come in small packages”. Well, we are a small, friendly and truly independent real ale pub with real beers, real fires, real food and real atmosphere!

Formerly called the ‘Millers Arms’ and subsequently established as a real ale house in 1985 by Clarks of Wakefield when it also became known as ‘Boons End’, the ‘Brewers Pride’ was ‘born’ in 1991 and has built up one of the finest of reputations for both the choice and consistent quality of cask ales sold – currently, there are two house beers, one permanent Oakham Ales beer and a choice of six rotating guest beers available on the bar all the time!

Built in 1872, this fantastic old pub is ‘stuffed’ full of character and simply oozes warmth and charm – a great place to unwind with and meet new friends. And, as if fine ale wasn’t enough, conversion of the old ‘Ossett Brewery’ into ‘Millers Bar & Restaurant’ was completed back in April 2010 so customers can now enjoy truly excellent food in sumptuous surroundings.

NEW for 2016. We are now brewing our own beer under the name of Horbury Ales (it’s a long story!), which have been so well received that at least one now features permanently on our bar. Brewing has only just moved from our 1BBL (36 pints) pilot kit to the main 8BBL (2,304) pints brewery so up until now, other than beer festivals, our beers have not been available anywhere else. Why not pop down to be one of the first to try these amazing beers!
In addition to our varied range of quality real ales, we also stock an excellent selection of quality wines and offer a Traditional Lunchtime Menu as well as superb value themed food nights; Monday is Pie Night, Tuesday is Tapas, Wednesday and Thursday feature our superb value ‘Brewers Madness’; offering two main courses for just £12.95!

Monday evening is also quiz night, to get the old grey cells going, with a free supper as a reward! Live music sessions take place on the 1st Sunday of the month together with a programme of live entertainment from local bands including our Annual Beer Festival held each year over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

So, whether you fancy a quiet lunchtime pint, a mouth-watering evening meal with friends, a brain-teasing quiz night or a buzzing, busy band night come along and see us, you will always be made to feel at home and before long everyone will know your name.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
